Hi, You Beautiful Old Town (all of NRW)

Winding alleys and historical facades: The cycle route “Historic Town Centres” connects the most beautiful old towns in NRW and leads through Münsterland, Sauerland and the Teutoburg Forest.

Anyone strolling through Soest can’t help but admire the pretty church and the town ramparts, as well as the myriad historical houses. In the old town alone, 600 buildings are listed as historic monuments. Not to mention the half-timbered houses in the old towns of Warendorf, Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Rietberg, Werne, Steinfurt, Tecklenburg, Münster, Lippstadt and Werl.

But magnificent castles and green oases are also waiting to be discovered along the 390-km “Historic Town Centres” bike tour. The tour is a round trip, and can be started anywhere along the route. Just be sure to plan enough time. The old towns are simply beautiful and you won’t want to leave them too soon.

TIP: Make sure to have your camera handy. There are plenty of lovely photo opportunities along the way.

ROUTE: A good starting point is Soest. In total, the route “Historic Town Centres” leads through ten historic old towns.
