Scandinavia in Stuttgart

Ah, Stuttgart. German industriousness, huge architectural wonders, and lots of Spätzle. But with Scandic’s new hotel in the Europaviertel district, a touch of Scandinavian serenity has now found its way into the city. We took a look.

Stuttgart has a new Nordic-inspired living room: the Scandic Stuttgart Europaviertel. With its eighth hotel in Germany, the Scandinavian hotel group is bringing its typical “hygge feeling” to the heart of Baden-Württemberg – to a location that couldn’t be more central. Located in the chic Europaviertel district, just a few steps away from the main train station (above and below), the hotel fits perfectly into the dynamic Stuttgart cityscape.

A semi-transparent wooden room divider allows a view of a bar area.

Inside, there is a familiar Scandinavian serenity. 174 rooms, designed in the clear, warm design language that makes Scandinavian hotels so appealing. Lots of wood tones, subtle textures, soft colors. A style that doesn’t need to be loud to make an impression. King-size beds with light wood headboards invite you to sink in, and there is even a special category with sofa beds for families. Practical, cozy, and thoroughly relaxed. The public areas deliberately set a different tone: more green, more copper, more visual variety. This creates an atmosphere that feels modern but never seems overloaded. Typical Scandic, only this time in the middle of Swabia.

The Best Location for an Extended City Break

The culinary experience continues at „The Hay Loft“. This restaurant focuses on regional and seasonal produce, which is evident not only in the taste, but also in the fact that at least half of the breakfast items are organic. It fits seamlessly into the sustainability concept and the fresh, green look. In the evening, guests gather at the bar. Here, cozy seating niches invite you to unwind after a long day in the city, perhaps with a beer or cocktail in hand.

Stuttgart shows its urban side around the hotel. The Europaviertel district never really sleeps: endless shopping opportunities, the iconic city library around the corner, the old town within walking distance, and Schlossplatz just a leisurely stroll away. Trade fair and airport? Thanks to direct connections, they’re practically on the doorstep.

Prices at the new Scandic in Stuttgart start at around 90 euros for two people. More information is available here on the hotel’s website.
