The use of light wood and gray tones makes the rooms appear even more light-filled than they already are. The architectural highlight, however, is the 24-meter-high vertical garden that dominates the interior of the hotel and around which the hotel tower rises. Almost 2,000 plants find space on the imposing cylinder. This also means that guests are spoiled for choice. Would you prefer a room facing outwards, with the best view of the city and the cathedral, or a room facing inwards, with air freshly filtered by plants and an architectural marvel before your eyes? It&#8217;s virtually impossible to make the wrong decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food and drinks?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel restaurant <strong>San \u00c9na <\/strong>serves the finest Greek cuisine. A large selection of hot and cold mezze, from fried halloumi to tuna tartare, provides the ideal basis for the exquisite delicacies from the grill: How about black tiger shrimp or caramelized octopus in chili garlic butter? Berlin is not exactly lacking in activities, quite the contrary. The Museum Island alone, years of renovation or not, is worth planning several days to visit. The TV tower and the Red Town Hall are also within walking distance. And apart from that, there is everything you could possibly want to do in Berlin. And for everyone else, too, really. The team from London-based architecture firm Waldo Works drew heavily on the Bauhaus legacy and the \u201c<strong>New Frankfurt<\/strong>\u201d urban development plan, which shaped the city back in 1925. In the lobby and restaurant, on the other hand, there is a lot of granite paired with shades of green and brown. Cool, yet inviting. Oh, and with art hanging everywhere, the hotel is almost a museum in itself. There&#8217;s a lot to see here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food and drinks?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the hotel itself! The Brasserie Anni serves excellent hot food until late in the evening to satisfy guests&#8217; appetites. The menu is based on French cuisine (from onion soup to moules frites to coq au vin), but a Wiener schnitzel has also made it onto the menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery You can trace German history in the Paulskirche, and the newly designed R\u00f6mer is definitely worth a photo. If you&#8217;re in the mood for more culture, you can either enjoy one of the concerts in the nearby Alte Oper or head to the Museumsufer on the other side of the Main. Or, if you prefer meat, the Brunfels burger in a sourdough brioche bun with Appenzeller guanciale from Lazio and pickled cucumbers. Familiar dishes, elegantly reimagined. And, since we are still in Mainz, the wine selection is also impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mainz was founded by the Romans and is one of the oldest cities in Germany, so there is plenty to do and see. From the Brunfels, it is only a few minutes to <strong>Mainz Cathedral<\/strong>, a true Romanesque masterpiece. Three times a week, the square in front of it is lined with market stalls, which are perfect for strolling along. A trip to the Rhine is a must on any visit to Mainz, and the Rhine promenade with its numerous places to sit and lie down is perfect for this. classy: following a redesign, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leonardo-hotels.com\/mannheim\/hotel-mannheimer-hof-leonardo-limited-edition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mannheimer Hof<\/a>, now part of the Leonardo Limited Edition, presents itself in velvety green and blue with gold accents. It&#8217;s a combination that even we find irresistible. In addition to the color scheme, the furniture and d\u00e9cor also evoke associations with the \u201cGolden Twenties.\u201d But don&#8217;t worry: the bright rooms are not lacking in modern amenities. Nevertheless, the style continues here, only a little more restrained. But small details such as Art Deco-inspired lamps and ornate pictures create a cozy feeling of home. Every decorative object is a thought that has gone into the design of the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 And if you&#8217;re not used to such a grid-like street layout, then strolling through the city center can be an experience in itself. Otherwise, the Mannheim Rosengarten is practically on your doorstep, where concerts and musicals are performed on a regular basis. The extensive <strong>Luisenpark <\/strong>is also not far away, and a detour to Mannheim Palace, one of the largest baroque palaces in the world and now the heart of Mannheim University, is also a must. For culture vultures, a visit to the Rei\u00df-Engelhorn Museums with their changing but always worthwhile special exhibitions is recommended.
