Visitors can look forward to these Berlin highlights in 2025!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-world-s-longest-open-air-gallery-turns-35\">The world&#8217;s longest open-air gallery turns 35<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1990, Berliners made a virtue of necessity and transformed the gray <strong>wall <\/strong>that separated West and East Germany into a colorful work of art. At 1,316 meters, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stiftung-berliner-mauer.de\/en\/east-side-gallery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">East Side Gallery<\/a> is also the longest surviving section of the Berlin Wall. This year it is celebrating its 35th anniversary! July 2024<\/time><\/span><\/div><div class=\"title-wrap\"><h3 class=\"title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/funkygermany.com\/en\/bicycle-routes-berlin-industrial-heritage\/\">Cycling through Berlin&#8217;s industrial past<\/a><\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/article><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An oasis of art: 200 years of Museum Island Berlin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The foundation stone for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smb.museum\/en\/museums-institutions\/museumsinsel-berlin\/home\/\">Berlin&#8217;s Museum Island<\/a> was laid 200 years ago! Construction of the <strong>Altes Museum <\/strong>began in July 1825 and it was not to be the only one. This summer, Berlin is celebrating the anniversary with a whole host of exciting events. For a cool drink with the finest beats, art fans are drawn to the <strong>Kolonnaden Bar <\/strong>at the northern tip of the Museum Island. Berlin&#8217;s archaeologists are working here on Petriplatz and we are allowed to be part of it.
