Influential women have shaped the historic town in Upper Franconia like only Richard Wagner. First and foremost is Margravine Wilhelmine, whose passion for architecture had a decisive influence on the town’s development. We have her to thank not only for the Hermitage<\/strong>, but also for the Margravial Opera House<\/strong>. The latter was a kind of wedding present for her daughter – quite generous!
