White Gold <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

White asparagus season is only once a year. With two large cultivation areas \u2013 around Abensberg and the G\u00e4uboden<\/strong> \u2013 and almost 600 hectares of cultivation area, the Bavarian Golf and Thermenland<\/a> is one of the largest asparagus regions in Bavaria. With the so-called “white gold”, the local farmers produce something very special. The award for “World Gourmet Heritage” and the protected indication of origin of the Abensberger asparagus are all the proof you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yellow Sulfur <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Romans already used the natural occurrence of sulfur water 2,000 years ago. The natural remedy not only has a positive effect on the joints, the spine, the musculoskeletal system and the skin, it is also essential for our body. Sulfur is the “lubricant” for our joints and joint capsules. The ingredients of the sulfur water enter the bloodstream via the skin and the mucous membranes, in the deep layers of the skin up to the nails and hair. Incidentally, the Limes thermal baths<\/strong> in Bad G\u00f6gging are healthy in three ways: the thermal baths delight visitors with yellow sulfur, black natural moor and blue thermal mineral water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Golden Juice <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the Weltenburg monastery<\/a><\/strong> you will find what is probably the most beautiful beer garden with the oldest monastery brewery in the world. The monastery is located at the Danube Gorge<\/strong>, the narrowest point of the Danube. And right here at this natural spectacle, visitors can enjoy one of the best monastery beers. The full-bodied Weltenburger Barock Dunkel flows through a pipeline from the brewery’s rock cellar directly into the tap of the monastery tavern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another impressive brewery, the Kuchlbauer brewery<\/strong>, can be found in Abensberg. Here, the golden juice is staged in a colorful way, because the waiters and waitresses serve it at the foot of the 35 meter high, colorful Kuchlbauer Tower, which is an architectural project from Friedensreich Hundertwasser and a homage to Bavarian beer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bright red peonies <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In spring you should pay a visit to the meadows and flower beds around Stubenberg<\/a><\/strong>. The main flowering period for peonies begins in mid-May. The color spectrum of the flowers ranges from red in all shades, the most delicate pink hues, bright yellow and the purest white to coral tones. There are over 1,000 varieties to discover: Japanese, European and American tree peonies as well as the well-known Rockii varieties from China with the black spot. The flower will even change its color while it blooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turquoise Water <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Seven thermal baths<\/a> in the Bavarian Golf and Thermenland are fed by thermal water. And because the Romans already knew that the blue water is particularly healing, they built a thermal facility not far from the Roman fort in Abusina, centuries ago. The Limes-Therme<\/a><\/strong> of Bad G\u00f6gging has been located there for 40 years. From a depth of more than 600 meters, the wonderful healing water, which is 28 to 36 degrees Celsius, flows into 15 pools of different temperatures. By the way: the positive effect of a bath begins after just 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green Gold <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Meter-high plants climb up on tension wires and form an idyllic landscape of spring-fresh green and fragrant hops between gentle hills and river valleys. In the heart of Bavaria, between Munich<\/a>, Regensburg and Landshut, lies the largest contiguous hop-growing region in the world \u2013 the Hallertau<\/strong>. The approximately 170-kilometer-long circular cycle route, Hallertauer Hopfentour<\/a><\/strong>, leads along the river valleys of the Abens and Ilm. If you also want to taste the \u201cspice of beer\u201d, stop off at one of the traditional inns along the route. Hikers stroll along the hops and beer adventure trail. On 15 kilometers, there is all sorts of interesting things to learn about the “green gold”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to go even deeper, take part in the guided tours of the region’s hop farmers. The powerful, scratchy strobiles and their use, for example in chocolate and liqueur, are reported on in a vivid manner. If you can’t resist the scent, you can order the hop aroma to take home from Lutzenburger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black fabric <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Be naturally healthy and beautiful: That is what the millennia-old natural moor promises. The black substance from the earth has a positive effect on connective tissue and muscular rheumatism or chronic joint diseases and helps to reduce stress and activate the immune system. Heated to 42 degrees Celsius and applied directly to the skin, the skin also benefits from the deep effect of the moor.
